SASKATOON – The No. 1 ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies made it a weekend sweep of the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns with a 91-53 win Saturday night at the PAC.
Saskatchewan improves to 12-0 on the season with the win and extends their conference winning streak to 28 games at the PAC on their ninth annual Shoot For The Cure night. Lethbridge falls to 10-0 with the loss.
Sabine Dukate led the Huskies on Saturday night with a game-high 21 points. The first-year guard added four rebounds and three assists in her 26 minutes of floor time.
Katie Keith led Lethbridge with 13 points, while adding four rebounds and three steals. Teesha Olson chipped in with another 10 points. Maria Miller led the 'Horns with five boards to go along with her eight points.
Saskatchewan opened the game with a quick 10-0 run and grew the lead to 16 during the first session. The Pronghorns would chip into the lead closing the quarter down 24-16.
Saskatchewan would start to pull away in the second extending the lead to 45-21 by halftime. Dukate had 14 of her 21 points in the first 20 minutes.
Dukate would score seven more in the third to get to 21 as Saskatchewan continued its strong play on home court. The Huskies took a 75-38 lead to the fourth.
Saskatchewan travels to Winnipeg next weekend for a series with the Wesmen. Lethbridge will host the Manitoba Bisons next weekend.
