Huskie Athlete of the Week (January 30, 2017):

Second-year forward Logan McVeigh recorded five goals and one assist in a weekend home-and-home series with provincial rival the Regina Cougars. 

The Kenaston, Sask. product scored twice and added an assist in a 10-2 win on Friday night in Saskatoon. He tallied just 1:51 into the game and again on the power play at 4:28 in the second period. He added an assist on the Huskies’ ninth goal of the game. In Saturday’s 5-2 win in Regina, McVeigh recorded a hat trick scoring the Huskies’ first three goals at 11:07 in the first on the power play, 9:52 in the second and 1:34 in the third.

The Huskies meet the Manitoba Bisons February 3-4 at Rutherford Rink.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Oct. 11, 2016):

Second-year forward Logan McVeigh recorded four points in a weekend sweep over the UBC Thunderbirds to open the Canada West men’s hockey season.

The Kenaston, Sask. product scored twice in a 4-1 win on Friday night. He tallied at 2:15 in the third period and again four minutes later at 6:40 on the power play. The goals were the second and third of the night by the Huskies. In Saturday’s 7-0 win, McVeigh recorded two assists – the first on the Huskies’ third goal and the second on the fifth goal. 

The Huskies travel to meet the Alberta Golden Bears next weekend in a rematch of the 2015-16 Canada West final.
