Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 20, 2017):

Third-year University of Saskatchewan defenceman Jesse Forsberg was named a University Cup tournament all-star on the weekend in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The Waldheim, Sask. product recorded one goal and one assist in the national championship tournament.

Saskatchewan finished second.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Jan. 16, 2017):

Third-year University of Saskatchewan defenceman Jesse Forsberg recorded four points in a dominating weekend sweep over the No. 7 ranked Calgary Dinos.

The Waldheim, Sask. product was a +1 in Friday’s 4-0 shutout victory. A night later in an 8-2 win, the Agriculture & Bioresources student tallied at 8:17 and 19:47 in the first period. Both goals came on the power play. He completed the hat trick at 8:54 in the third period. He also assisted on the Huskies’ sixth goal of the game.

Forsberg is the first Huskie to lead the team in scoring since Dave Dunn in 1969-70. He sits second among all skaters in the conference with 23 points.

The No.2 ranked Huskies travel to meet the UBC Thunderbirds next weekend.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Oct. 11, 2016):

Third-year forward Jesse Forsberg recorded four points in a weekend sweep over the UBC Thunderbirds to open the Canada West men’s hockey season.

The Waldheim, Sask. product recorded one goal and two assists in Saturday's 7-0 win. He scored the Huskies' second goal at 9:44 in the first and assisted on the two other first period power play goals. He also added an assist on the third goal of a 4-1 win on Friday night. 

The Huskies travel to meet the Alberta Golden Bears next weekend in a rematch of the 2015-16 Canada West final.
