HUSKIES, SASKATOON CITY POLICE AND CO-OP LAUNCH COP CARDS

The Saskatoon City Police, the Huskies and the Saskatoon Co-op have teamed up in the Huskis Centennial year to bring fans the 2011-12 edition of Cop Cards.  Each month, a new card released for fans to collect from school, a Huskie game or the Saskatoon City Police.  The card will feature Huskie alumni who are now members of the Saskatoon City Police and current Huskie athletes.  Collect all yours today!

Available at the September 2 Huskie football game.

September's card will feature:

Cst. Aaron Moser, BCOMM ’00
After graduating from Weyburn Comprehensive School Aaron enrolled in studies at the University of Saskatchewan.  He was a member of the Huskie Football team from 1995- 2000 including the 1996 Vanier Cup Champions.  Aaron was the Canada West nominee for the nation’s Outstanding Lineman in 2000 and a second team All Canadian.  He received a Bachelor of Commerce with great distinction and has been a member of the Saskatoon Police Service for eight years working in Patrol, Break and Enter, and Planning.  Aaron is still heavily involved in Huskie Athletics as the defensive line coach for the football team.    

Sergeant Lorne Keen, BSPE ‘90
Lorne joined the Huskie football team in 1985 as a 17 year old receiver out of Holy Cross High School. He played in every game during a 5 year career, culminating in the ‘89 Vanier Cup.  That same season, Lorne was one of 8 Huskies voted to the Canada West All-Conference Team. Lorne joined the Saskatoon Police Service in 1993. He served in the Communications, Patrol and Traffic Divisions prior to his current assignment with the Forensic Identification Section. 

Cst. Brock Lynden
Brock attended Michael A. Riffel High School in Regina. He was a member of the Riffel Royals football team for 4 years winning both the City Championship and Provincials in 1989. He went on to join the Canadian Forces and served 3 years before re-attending university. Once at the University of Saskatchewan, Brock played for the 1999 Huskie Football Team and was hired on by the Calgary Police Service after his first year. Brock went on to join the Saskatoon Police Service in 2002 and has spent time in Patrol and the Training section and is currently a Defensive Tactics Instructor.

Nico Higgs, #26 Linebacker
Nico is currently an Arts and Science student working towards a Sociology degree with a minor in criminology. He hopes to apply to the Saskatoon City Police in the future. 

Ben Heenan, #45 Offensive Lineman
Ben is a Agriculture and Bioresource student.  He a 2010 he was a First Team All-Canadian at his position, Canada West All-Star and played in the East West Bowl. In 2008, he was the Canada West Rookie of the Year and the 2008 Sask Sport Male Athlete of the Year nominee.

8th ANNUAL HUSKIE MEN'S VOLLEYBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 8th Annual Huskie Men's Volleyball Golf Tournament has been set for Saturday September 10, 2011.  All Huskie Alum, be it Volleyball or any other sport are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Registration: 7:00am - 8:00pm Shot Gun Start
Individual Golfer: $150 (includes powercart, 18 holes, souvenir and dinner)
Team: $500 (includes powercart, 18 holes for four, souvenir and supper)

WALL OF FAME INDUCTION BANQUET TICKETS ON SALE

Huskie Athletics officially launched our 2011-12 Centennial Celebration plans including information around our Wall of Fame Induction Banquet, which is slated for Saturday September 10, 2011.  Below is all of the information for Wall of Fame Induction Banquet ticket sales:
