Ways To Give

There are many ways to support Huskie Athletics and in each way, gifts are formally recognized, tax receipts are issued, and our student-athletes are the ultimate beneficiaries. Huskie Athletics is challenged to stay ahead of the increasing costs of transportation, accommodation, sports equipment, team uniforms and, of course, general operations.

Competition for student-athletes is increasing. CIS guidelines have allowed university sport to move aggressively toward a competitive scholarships program that entices athletes and influences recruitment efforts for university teams. To stay competitive and keep our top athletes here in Saskatchewan, the Huskies must provide similar scholarships and support for student-athletes. Many alumni have recently stepped forward and established scholarships in support of Huskie athletes. We thank them for that support, and encourage others to join the team.

Donors can choose to give to the overall Huskie Athletic program or to a team of their choice.   You can support in many other ways, for example: Membershare Club, Ten-A-Month Club, Adopt-A-Huskie; support the Sports Health Centre; Huskie sport camps; PAC Seat for Life, give annually, provide a major gift, establish a new scholarship, support the Huskie Athletic Endowment; or include the Huskies in your will and testament.  A number of funds already exist that donors are encouraged to support. More information on these funds is available on request.

Cash / Cheque Gifts
Cash is the most common way to make a gift. A gift of cash is as easy as writing a cheque, payable to the University of Saskatchewan, or using a credit card.

Securities: Appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds are a popular way to support student-athletes. It’s simple and can offer you a greater tax benefit than a cash equivalent.

• Receive a charitable deduction for the fair-market value of the donated asset
• Avoid paying capital-gain tax you would otherwise pay upon the sale of the appreciated securities

Electronic Funds Transfer

We offer the convenience of transferring funds from your checking or savings account or credit card as a way to make your annual membership gift to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

Payroll Deduction
For faculty and staff of the University of Saskatchewan, payroll deduction is offered as a quick and easy way to regularly support Huskie Athletics. 

Matching Gifts
Many companies will match your contributions to Huskie Athletics. Check with your employer – you may be able to double, even triple, the impact of your support for University of Saskatchewan Huskie student-athletes.

Tax Information
Most of your gifts, major gifts, planned and annual gifts are automatically 100% charitably tax receipted. Only the individual or company making the gift is eligible to take the tax deduction. Since the Huskies operate through the University of Saskatchewan, gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
