All Huskie Athletes are encouraged to visit an academic advisor to monitor their academic progress and assist with course selection at least once a year.

All-Academic Team

Huskie Athletics is very proud of the academic success of its athletes. In the 2006/07 academic year 36% of student athletes, managers and trainers attained University of Saskatchewan and/or CIS All-Academic status.

CIS Academic All-Canadian team includes those student athletes who consumed a year of eligibility while maintaining a minimum 80% average on at least 18 credit units from September to August.

Huskie Athletics All-Academic First team is composed of all student athletes, trainers and managers who have contributed to the program while maintaining a minimum average of 79.5% on at least 24 credit units during the 2006-07 academic year.

Huskie Athletics All-Academic Second team recognizes those with an average between 74.5% and 79.5% while completing at least 24 credit units.

Every September, Huskie Athletics will invite students, senior administration, deans, parents, coaches and media to an All-Academic Reception, recognizing athletes’ accomplishments. The 2006-07 year saw Huskie Athletics place 71 student athletes, trainers and managers on the Huskie Athletics All-Academic First team and 60 on the Huskie Athletics All-Academic Second team. Forty-eight student athletes received the additional recognition of being CIS Academic All-Canadians.
